Marshall Girls Basketball Association Mission Statement:  The Marshall Girls Basketball Association (MGBA) provides Marshall Area youths with a safe, positive and educational basketball experience for players of all abilities.  This program is the feeder program for Marshall High School Girls Basketball Program and is open to girls in the 4th through 8th grade.  The program receives direction and guidance from the high school coaching staff.  The goal of the program is to assist in the growth and development of young basketball players and to enhance their development of character building skills related to self-esteem, self-respect, and respect for others.  Our intent is to assist by providing them with the means of reaching those goals through dedication, perseverance, and teamwork both on and off the basketball court.

Philosophy:  The MGBA program is competitive as opposed to the participation based Community Services program or the YMCA programs.  It is geared toward those girls in grades 4th-8th interested in playing basketball and who are within the Marshall School District.  (These schools include Marshall Public Schools, Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Samuel Lutheran School and Marshall Area Christian School).  All players will have quality playing time during the games but that time may not be equal in quantity.
